Whistl has launched a local test in the United Kingdom to help online retailers with low volumes. These retailers now get the opportunity to get their parcels to customers with a wider range of delivery options, including 24 and 48 hours services.

The delivery management company launched the trial in the West Midlands (Minworth), South Yorkshire (Dinnington) and Nottingham. There, Whistl will collect parcels from local online retailers, consolidate them at its new and existing micro hubs and then pass them over to their logistics partners for delivery to the consumers.

First time access to CMS

“Retailers, no matter of size, now have the opportunity to get their parcels to customers competitively”, Whistl reaction. “Small volume e-tailers will have access for the first time to carrier management systems that will enable them to offer consumers a wider range of delivery options including 24 and 48 hours services.”

CEO Nick Wells says his company has always been looking at ways for companies to benefit from the competition in the delivery space. “As we are seeing unprecedented demand for goods online during the current Covid-19 crisis, it is important that all retailers no matter of size have the opportunity to get their goods to customers competitively.”

Service could expand to more locations

Whistl says it has plans to roll out this service to more locations across the United Kingdom, depending on the performance of the test in the three aforementioned locations.
