Omnipack, a Polish fulfilment provider, has raised another 2.5 million euros in funding, which brings its total to 5 million euros. The startup, which manages logistics operations for ecommerce companies, wants to use the money to further expand in Europe.
The money, which was raised last month, will be used for cross-border expansion and technology improvement. Among the private investors, there were several business angels who had previously invested in the company.
One of the investors is Florian Drabeck, former CFO of Westwing Group. He has worked with Omnipack’s founder and CEO, Tomek Kasperski for six years. “Poland is an excellent country for creating profitable and high-quality logistics for enterprises that want to fulfill orders from customers from all over Europe. Omnipack has confirmed its strong capabilities and international scope by serving partners from outside Poland, who today account for almost half of the company’s revenue”, the investor added.
Poland is great for creating profitable and high-quality logistics.
Expansion to DACH region
“Despite the pandemic, we managed to implement our expansion and financing plans. This capital will give us the fuel to continue growing and achieve profitability for you in future year. It will finance, among other things, further progress on our journey in the DACH market, our own technology, and the expansion of our warehouses”, Kasperski commented.
The capital will help us achieve profitability in 2021.
Lots of improvements coming
Due to the impact Covid-19 had on ecommerce, logistics operators grew dramatically. “However, the context was difficult for Omnipack during the lockdown, as the company was preparing to enter the DACH market (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), open two new warehouses in Nadarzyn and Gorzów Wielkopolski (both 6,500m²), build a new website available in three languages, implement a new warehouse management system and raise capital for further investments.”
Omnipack was founded by Tomasz Kasperski, Rafał Szcześniewski and Karol Milewski in 2016. Nowadays, the company has two warehouses in Poland that enables clients to offer same-day delivery across Europe. Almost half of its revenue comes from foreign clients.
